NPC Shorthand

Really simple post today.

This shorthand for NPCs is a quick way to make opposition for the PCs to fight, hide from, trick, talk to, and so on. The Tier level is based on how important they are going to be to your campaign. Instead of stating out all city guards, here's a format for Tier 1 NPCs. Instead of making a gang member for the local street toughs, use a Tier 2 NPC. Tier 3 are used for anyone that might appear again and again.

Tier 1
AC 10 +1 per level*, max +10
Hp 5 per level*
Attack bonus +1/2 per level*
Damage 1d8+1, x2**
Skill bonus +1 per level*, max +10
XP: CR 1/3 of PC level

* The level of the PC being opposed.
** No matter the weapon.

Tier 2
AC 13 +1 per level*, max +10
Hp 7 per level*
Attack bonus +1 per level*
Damage 1d8+2, x2/19-20**
Skill bonus +3, +1 per level* for any relative skill the PC might possess.
Feats and/or SQ***: Combat Casting, Damage Reduction****, Evasion, Improved Initiative, Improved Unarmed Attack, Power Attack, Precise Shot, Quick Draw, Rapid Shot, Sneak Attack, Spells, SR 15, Toughness x2, Weapon Focus, or Weapon Specialization.
XP: CR 1/2 of PC level

* The level of the PC being opposed.
** No matter the weapon.
*** Choose one per four levels of the PC
**** 10 +1 per level*/good, magic, or silver

Tier 3
Just like WOTC is doing now.

Okay. I'm at work, so that's all you get today. But I've updated 3 blogs today and I deserve a cookie.
